viana do costello, portugal to vigo, spain early connections

I would appreciate any help in finding an early connection from Viana do Castello, Portugal to Vigo, Spain. Both the trains and busses arrive in late morning. My family and I wish to get an early start exploring Vigo. Could not find any connections through Uber. We will be traveling on a weekday. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Menaught, do you have a family connection in Vigo or another special reason to choose it? It has a very small historic area down near the port, but I found it a very unremarkable place, much less interesting than the many other spots I visited in Galicia. I much preferred the small border town of Tui and the small city of Pontevedra, just for two examples. If you do choose Vigo, be aware that the bus station is quite far from the port and up on a hill. There is some bus service to get you to the center, and it should run reasonably frequently on a weekday.

There's not much cross-border transportation between Portugal and Spain. You may well have found everything that exists.

Thank you so much for your speedy reply. May I ask you a big favor? Could you find the bus or train schedules from Viana do castelo to Pontevedra - it sounds wonderful just what we would like. Also does Uber connect the two locations or is there some sort of rideshare? I even have had trouble trying to get information on renting a car between Portugal and Spain.
Thank you so much.

There are two ways to (possibly) find bus schedules: Use Rome2Rio.com and keep drilling down till you get to the links -- or -- Google "bus Viana do Castelo to XXXX".

I think the train will work best. There's one train in the morning that goes to Vigo. There you need to switch stations (it's about a mile) for the trip on to Pontevedra. But there are frequent trains between Vigo and Pontevedra, taking only about 1/2 hour. Once you get to Vigo, you are basically home free.

Buses will take longer to get to Vigo, then you'll have to get to the train station. You may have better luck searching for bus schedules to Vigo rather than to Pontevedra.

The other possibility is to wait till you get to Viana do Castelo and check at the tourist office and bus station. You really should do that, anyway, even if it appears that you have found complete bus information online. I've found that online bus schedules are not always as complete and accurate as online train schedules. There may be some viable options that are either no online or are difficult to find online.
