Using Uber in Europe (Portugal, Belgium, Holland)

I am traveling with three sisters through Portugal and then a bike/barge tour from Bruges to Amsterdam. We'll rent a car for the week in Portugal, but after the first day in Lisbon. Is using Uber a safe / less expensive option to a taxi for getting to / from the airports? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

The public transit in most parts of Europe ranges from good to excellent. All, but the smallest airports are well connected by public transit. I travelled all over Europe and was forced to take a taxi only on very few ocassions.

I can only speak to Portugal, but Uber here is fast, easy and economical. That said, the metro has a stop at the airport in Lisbon. But, with three of you, an Uber might be as cheap as public transport.

Can I get from the Lisbon airport during the next few days strike ? I am assuming all busses will have long lines , the metro will not work ?

I need to get down south , but guess I’ll have to rest in Lisbon two days til it’s over. Will there be angry crowds with signs yelling at the stations ?
