Has anyone done the guided tour (includes library)? Or is it better to explore the University at your own pace?

We explored it at our own pace but a guided tour could be very interesting too. I prefer to explore on my own but if you like to have a guided tour you might opt for that - we did not do so.

We toured it all on our own. The library was an outstanding sight to behold.

We spent 2 nights in Coimbra with our RS tour group. We did a guided tour of the University with a RS local guide. Our guide was engaging & knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed the phenomenal library. We were fortunate to be there during Fall for back to school week. The students proudly wore their black cloaks. All in all we were very happy with the tour and felt it was one of the top highlights of Coimbra.

My son and I did a private tour and it was well worth it. It lasted about an hour and we got to see the library and learn a lot of neat facts we wouldn't have picked up on our own.
