Two fit senior ladies like to do a walking holiday in Portugal prefer moderate walking - distance no problem.
What would be the best month - April, May or June? Would prefer to use a base for about 5 days, returning each day to the base then move onto another area, also relying on public transport. Any suggestions for suitable areas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
can't really help you but have a look at this travel company that specialises in walking holidays, you might get a few ideas from ;looking at their itinaries.

May and June for me would be best late June it's going to get much warmer.
Late May would be best for a walking holiday. April will be busy for Easter and will be cooler. Mid /late May would be the best climate wise, as the end of June maybe fat too hot for anything other than sitting on a beach.
You could base yourself in Lagos for a week and Tavira for the second. Both are on the rail line and have bus services. Further north, some of the better walking areas are better accessed by car.
