We are travelling Portugal without a car this October. We have our itinerary more or less set starting in Porto, Aviero. Coimbra TWO Open days then Sintra and Lisbon.
Any ideas for a stop for those two days using public transit
Thanks in advance Sandy
Skip Aviero, not worth much time. You haven’t included Evora, a big highlight.
Also Alcobaça, Batalha are very worthwhile. We stayed in Obidos which we found to be too touristy although very picturesque.
If you are interested in the Order of Christ/Knights Templar, then consider Tomar. Near it is Almourol Castle, Fátima, Batalha Monastery, and Alcobaça Monastery. Since each is a major attraction I assume you can get to each using public transportation.
