We’ll be spending two nights in the Douro Valley, in route between Porto and Coimbra. We’ll have a car and are thinking of the following itinerary. What do others think? Are we missing any “must visit” quintas? Should any of these come off our list? We’ll be staying at Casa do Visconde De Chanceleiros. We’re trying not to be too ambitious and enjoy the short time we’ll have in the valley rather than seeing as many wineries as possible. Thank you.
Day One:
Morning: Drive from Porto to Douro Valley
Stop at São Leonardo de Galfura viewpoint
Visit Quinta da Pacheca near Regua
Visit Quinta do Panascal
Arrive at Casa do Visconde De Chanceleiros, dinner and overnight there
Day Two:
One or two-hour river tour, leaving from Pinhao
Visit Casal de Loivos
Visit Provesende or relax at Casa do Visconde de Chanceleiros
Overnight at Casa do Visconde De Chanceleiros
Day Three:
- Morning: Depart for Coimbra
