does the Sintra 434 bus begin at 9:15 or 9:30 in mid-april? i am trying to time my Pena palace ticket as i figure the bus will be 15-20 minutes and then a 30 minute? walk from the palace entrance to the palace line. thanks for any help
Hi,
We're trying to time our day trip from Lisbon to Sintra in early May, to include what time to catch the train at Lisbon's Rossio train station, so that we have enough time to deal with public transportation from Sintra's train station so that we arrive at the Pena Palace by our ticket entry time, and to include the walk (or supplemental bus) from the park entrance to the palace entrance.
You likely have came across this resource on the web, but if not, see the links below. We have found that the information appears to be useful and updated/current.

The last link is specific to the bus, as you'll see. It also includes a link to bus schedule on the site of the company that operates it. It's a bit confusing though ~ the writer indicates that in "low season" the first bus is ay 9:30am, but yet the company's site indicates 8:50am ~ this would make more sense as the first entry into the palace is at 9:30am. My suggestion would be to visit the company site and send them a message so they can confirm directly. We've not tried to confirm it, as we intend to take a taxi...though perhaps I will write them just to have a back-up plan/approach.
The only other thing I'll note about the site that the links above will take you is that it promotes buying your ticket from another vendor, which is a group tour promotion. As I'm sure you know, you can buy your tickets in advance online directly from the entity in charge of the parks and monuments, at this link here: https://bilheteira.parquesdesintra.pt/categoria/45/parks-and-monuments. This is how we're buying ours, rather than dealing with purchasing onsite, or through a tour operator.
Good luck...and enjoy Sintra!
