trouble with comboios de portugal online ticket purchase

Yesterday, i tried to purchase advance train tickets from porto to coimbra For September 11 using the comboios pt online website. .
Everything seemed to go well and I registered for the "my CP" access. The ticket purchase. To go through and I was told I would receive an email. Six hours later no email. Then I tried to access my CP and was told that the username (my email address) and login more incorrect. I tried to reset the the password and was told I would receive another email. Still no email

I then went to the websites online chat service. First I was told that the purchase did not go through because I didn't have proper 3-D security on my credit card. I then told them that even with that I had received no email stating that the purchase had not gone through and furthermore that I couldn't access the my CP.

The next thing I was told is that they had fixed my purchase so that it went through and they were sending me another email. When I told them about my problems again accessing the website, they just said re-register. When I told them that I still had not received an email several hours later, I was told that I just wasn't waiting long enough. They then disconnected.
I've purchased train tickets in advance on the RS website and other websites but never with CP. Has anyone else had a problem with them? If so any suggestions?.

I never got around to buying onine tickets for the Portuguese trains when I traveled there in May - just couldn't fix my plans til the last minute. It turned out that even last-minute tickets weren't that expensive - not like in say Italy or France where you save a lot of money booking in advance. For example, I think even trains from Lisbon to Porto are only about 30 Euros, even cheaper for the not-quite-as-fast IC trains, at the last minute.

There'a also a CP app by the way - not sure if that would be easier or better, but you might try that instead if you have a tablet or smart phone.

You can only purchase tickets on cp.pt 30 days ahead of your trip. Wait until 28-29 days, then try again. I’ve not had a problem doing it then. And, I think it’s worth it to purchase ahead because it is a 40% savings. But, it’s also correct that train travel (and a lot of other things) are much cheaper in Portugal than some other countries.

thank you. i was finally able to get my tickets on train from porto to coimbra. apparently my e-mail was not accepting CP response, so i used another address and they responded promptly.
that said, advance online purchases are not available for the train from port-regua-pinhao and return.
a chat rep from CP said i could purchase them, but the CP website gives the following message
"The search found no results. The lack of results may be because of:
The stations you looked for do not have Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Regional or InterRegional services, so the purchase is not available on from the Online ticket office. Please confirm in the see train toimes option on the site or go to the nearest ticket office."

just to see if the 30 day rule applied, i tried to purchase tix for 2 weeks from now. no luck; apparently the IR trains along douro from porto are not available online. at least i can't find a way. i tried the RS link as well and again, no luck for adv. pur. along douro
