Trouble purchasing ticket for Pena Palace Park

I'm trying to buy tickets ahead for Pena Palace Park, but I'm having difficulty with the website. Well, I think there's something amiss with the website. I can tick off what I want to buy (tickets and transport), but when I get to the payment page and click on charge, the payment box has some of the info greyed out, unable to fill in. And there's a spinning icon in the middle of the screen.

I've attempted multiple times, and even sent an email to the website they suggest, but no luck. Should I just buy from a third party, like Tiquet? It seems like the third parties don't let you take a senior discount, and don't seem to let you book transportation. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Actually, I got a RESPONSE from the email I sent yesterday and they confirmed that there's currently a problem with the website (and not with me!) and told me to try again later. So I will. We don't leave for a few days so there's time.

And now I've fixed my own problem!

Glad to hear you received an answer. Best to buy direct rather than have a third party. Enjoy Sintra...its lovely!

Thanks, Annie, I'm really looking forward to it! After looking at a number of forums and books, we've decided to do the Regaleira first, then maybe the Moorish Castle, and save the Palace for the afternoon, maybe 3:00 or so. I'm hoping it will be less crowded than the morning rush.

Just came back from Portugal.
I bought my ticket for Peña on the the Tiqet app. Maybe no senior discount, but tix were only $15 so no biggie. You just go up to the bus stop and pay the bus directly ($20!) for Peña/Moor castle. It’s pretty far and it was a long wait for the bus to go back - so long we hopped in a TukTuk for $7 to get back to town and walk around and have lunch there.

The Regaleira is in the other direction and I think bus was $5. Tourist office said you could walk there.

Thanks, papaliak. If the official Park site isn't fixed by tomorrow, I'll do the same. Good to know about taking the Tuktuk back. The only other tickets I'm buying ahead are for the Regaleira (and I used the Blue site) and the Jeronimos Monastery (and I used the Tiquet site).

I HAVE been impressed by the response from the Park, the guy there has emailed me TWICE and included useful Sintra links.

We'll be in Lisbon for 4 days, and we'll be going to Sintra on day 3. The Monastery is booked for day 4. Still trying to decide if we want to book a walking tour and just follow the ones in Rick's book (and some others). I don't think we'll have any trouble amusing ourselves!

It's working again! Just purchased my tickets for later in the week. What a relief.

Regaleria is a good choice to start. Beautiful gardens as well .then head to Pena Palace... the views are spectacular...inside is ok ..my opinion. Save time to wander the streets of Sintra.

Happy to hear you got tix!!
