Hello Travel Friends,
We are going to Portugal for the first time this May after seeing Spain. Arriving in Porto, for 3 nts; then Coimbra for 2; and Lisbon for 5. Planned on using trains to move from each stay. We've booked our Spain trains with Trainline. We need the transfers from Porto to Coimbra, and Coimbra to Lisbon. We'd appreciate any and all of your suggestions, ideas and/or tips for booking, choosing, and using Portugal's transit. We are not planning on renting a car while there.
Thank you so much in advance - so grateful for this forum!
Cp.pt is the website for trains. If you book a bit ahead - 2 weeks - there is a discount.
Do you have your transport between the countries? It can be a bit more challenging than one would think. I know in the southern part of the country, a bus or driving is the only way. So, check it out earlier rather than later.
Thank you both so much for your assistance. We'll look for trains directly through the companies well in advance. Yes, we've already set up a flight from Barcelona to Porto, so we're just down to the two transfers from Porto and Coimbra.
Looking forward to the trip - and we appreciate you taking the time to help us!
