Hello Travel Friends,
We are going to Portugal for the first time this May after seeing Spain. Arriving in Porto, for 3 nts; then Coimbra for 2; and Lisbon for 5. Planned on using trains to move from each stay. We've booked our Spain trains with Trainline. We need the transfers from Porto to Coimbra, and Coimbra to Lisbon. We'd appreciate any and all of your suggestions, ideas and/or tips for booking, choosing, and using Portugal's transit. We are not planning on renting a car while there.

In Aug 2023 we did the same itinerary as y'all: Porto-->Coimbra-->Lisbon travelling via train. We booked directly with the train company, rather than using any 3rd party (such as Trainline). Links to the train company are in our trip report, as well as descriptions of our transit at each location. (In Coimbra one needs to change to a short local line at Coimbra-B train station in order to reach the Coimbra-A station, but we avoided this as the host of our rental lodging kindly transported us in his vehicle.)
