Booking tickets on the high speed train from Lisbon to Porto and I see there are two options s for departing stations in Lisbon, Oriente and Sta Apolonia. We are staying jn Alfama, so it looks like Sta Apolonia is more convenient location wise, but I want to make sure it is the best option for a direct train? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Santa Apolonia is the beautiful station in the centre, and is the one to aim for - the other is outside the city.

Santa Apolónia is very close to you in Alfama. Lisboa Oriente is about 5km north in the Parque das Nações neighborhood.
