Any suggestions on itinerary? Should we drive the coast to Lisbon and back?

If you have five days total, I would spend two full days in Porto, other choices are
1) Day trip to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, north of Porto. We did a great day trip there from Porto.
2) Explore the Douro River Valley. We did a seven day river cruise, but you can drive or take the train.
