My wife and I have booked the Spain tour, ending in Seville on a Sunday in May. Later we start the Portugal tour in Lisbon, the next Wednesday. For some down time between the tours, we plan to be in Loulé, near Faro. We are not having much luck finding a good bus or train connections from Seville to Loulé. Do you have some website that might help, or some other suggestions? Thanks
No trains connect these two areas, but both Alsa bus lines (Spanish) and Eva bus lines (Portuguese) run busses between Seville and Faro. Alsa is faster, with fewer stops along the way, including both Faro and Faro Airport. Alsa runs two or three busses per day from Seville to Faro. It's a 3 to 3.5 hour ride, depending on which Seville station you use. Plaza de Armas is on the western edge of the centre, and it's another half hour from the main train station. Note that there is a one hour time zone change crossing into Portugal, so a four hour trip gets you there three hours later on the clock. Eva runs several busses daily from Faro to Loule, and it's about a 40 minute trip. I took the Alsa bus from Seville to Faro airport in May 2016, and it was a pleasant and comfortable trip. See alsa.es or eva-bus.com for full info (both sites have an English option).
Thanks, Ottawanderer. I found little-to-nothing in my earlier searches, and found little from EVA today. I had not come across ALSA before, but that site looks good. I knew that Seville has more than one bus station with service, and saw that ALSA has service to the Algarve from more than one of these. Thanks much for the help, and hearing of your personal satisfaction with service on an earlier trip.
