Looking into taking a train from Seville, Spain to Faro, Portugal in May. Is it possible? I picked Faro as the destination as we plan on renting a car from there to travel in Portugal. I’m not having much luck with figuring out how to find train schedules and booking info. Any suggestions on alternative options? Any help appreciated. Thanks!
I checked Google Maps, and they say it's a 122 mile, 3 hr. 15 minute trip and it's by bus.
That would appear to be a comfortable trip.
Ugh… okay…Recalculating….😁 Explains why I am not finding what I’m looking for! Thanks!!
Back in 2015 I traveled from Seville to Lagos by bus because there was no trains between the countries as I recall. The Spain bus company is Alsa (link below)

And while in Portugal, I used the bus company called Eva (link below)
Check out www.Rome2Rio.com. It seems there are various bus lines making that trip, some have direct service. Trip takes about 2.5 hours or a little more, and it appears the cost is about US $ 10 to $17 per person.
It’s surprisingly difficult to get from Spain to Portugal. I’ve been told the lack of trains is due to a different gauge track in the different countries. The bus is really your only viable option. Once you get here, the trains are quite good.
Flix bus and Gypsy are the bus companies and the buses are quite comfortable - and inexpensive.
