Travel from Cascais to Sintra

Is there a train that goes directly from Cascais to Sintra
We end a bicycle trip in Cascais and want to go to Sintra next.

We were offered a free transfer from Caiscais to Lisbon airport (not the city of Lisbon) and don't know if it is easier to leave Caiscais via this transfer to the Lisbon airport, and then take a train from the airport to Sintra.
Or should we just take a train from Cascais to Lisbon , and then a train to Sintra?

Thank you,
Lee

There is no train from Cascais to Sintra. There are two bus routes that make the trip. However, these buses are crowded with tourists and locals who use them. If you have bicycles, it might not be doable. These are city buses with no storage underneath. Without bikes, this would easiest and quickest.

There is no train from the airport to Lisbon, you would need to take the metro to the Rossio train station - then the train to Sintra.

When I need to check options, I use Rome2Rio to see what transport options to consider. I did a cruise ship bus tour of this area in December and we drove from Sintra to Cascais. Nice area if yo are into nature. If you don't have the bikes, there is a regular bus that takes less than 30 minutes. Then you can look at what rideshare options there are in Portugal. R2R mentions Uber, but I am not sure that actually functions in Portugal.

given the short distance(relatively), I would be tempted to just take a taxi instead of having to go all the way into Lisbon and back. Consider the time and then the train costs x2.
If you have the bikes, then that is an entirely different matter.
