My husband and I will be driving from Coimbra to Porto using a rental car. As soon as we arrive in Porto, we will be dropping off the car at Europcar on Rua De Goncalo Cristovao, 67. Our place of stay is on R. Carvalho, near the intersection of Rua Afonso Henriques. We will have luggage and backpacks with us. I am looking for recommendations on how to get from the car rental agency to our apartment.

I don’t know Porto well enough to say how far that is, but with luggage I would simply take an Uber or Bolt. Porto is very hilly so carrying luggage more than a short distance would not be my choice.

I have heard that Uber can be unreliable in Portugal. Is that true? Some folks suggest steering towards using Bolt or the taxi app called FreeNow. I have zero experience with any of this. Curious to know what people's experiences are with Uber, Bolt, and FreeNow in Portugal and Porto.
