Transportation options from Lisbon to Porto in case of train strikes

If there is a train strike on the day I plan to travel from Lisbon to Porto, what are other transportation options? I do not plan on renting a car. Thanks for your guidance and recommendations.

If you already bought the train tickets from the official train site cp.pt, you can ask for a refund or re-issue for a different date if there's a strike.

The national bus company
https://rede-expressos.pt/en

Private competitor
https://www.flixbus.com/

I prefer Redeexpressos but they are similar.
Redeexpressos has more routes and their terminals tend to be either downtown or ajancent to train /Metro hubs.

I will ask for a refund in case of a strike for that day. I still need to go to Porto on that day since I have lodging reservations.

What are my options on that day if the train is not available? Thanks!

I used Gypsyy bus and was very pleased. It was a new bus with a bathroom on board. Very inexpensive. The only caveat - if there is a train strike, lots of other people will be wanting to do the same thing. Watch the cp.pt website for announcements of strikes so you can purchase tickets early, if possible. As stated earlier, Flixbus and Rede are other options.

How long do strikes typically last in Portugal ? When in Italy, it was about a half day, possibly 1 day at the most. Same or longer?
