What is best way to get to Sintra from airport? Do I take metro to Oriente and then train to Sintra or do I have to go to Rossio? Thanks for helping me understand prior to arrival.

No need to go to Rossio - you can just go to Oriente; there are direct trains from there to Sintra, about twice an hour it seems.

I checked it out for my trip in a couple weeks - trains are more frequent from Oriente.

We arrived Lisbon airport and went directly to Sintra about one year ago. Our guesthouse in Sintra lined up a taxi service direct from Lisbon airport and I think cost was about 35 or 40 Euro. Driver met us at airport and took us directly to guesthouse. I think trip was only about 40 minutes in traffic. The taxi company was a family owned business, based in Sintra, and seemed very reliable. Driving within Sintra was very restricted, so it was helpful to have a Sintra based taxi service who was registered to drive in Central Sintra. I will PM you the contact info for the taxi service if I can find it. Otherwise, you might check with your hotel/guesthouse for suggestions.
