We are flying in on the Portugal National Airline in April 2018. I have heard that you could use, your airline ticket for a pass to board buses to downtown Lisbon. Is this true and accurate. What are the costs of buses and metro to downtown Lisbon. We will be in Lisbon 1 day before flying on to Madrid, Spain. Thank you.

Have not heard of that, perhaps others will comment. We used Uber. Works well and quickly in Lisbon.

The Lisbon Airport website gives info about using the metro or buses to get into the city; all in all, the buses sound like a better bet: http://www.lisbon-airport.com/transportation.html

Taxis are really cheap in Portugal. It cost less than 10 euros last year and the convenience to be taken close to where you are staying was worth it.
