Hello All. I am flying to Rome in a few days on TAP with a stop in Lisbon. I am fully vaccinated and have a vaccine card. Do I need to get tested prior to my flight due to Portugal's travel rules? I'm reading conflicting things. I know I don't need to get tested for Rome. I will only be in the Lisbon airport for a few hours transferring from one flight to the next. Thank you for your help!
You should call TAP Airlines and they will know what you need to do. I don't know if Portugal is requiring a negative Covid test for entry, but if they are, then you do need to get a negative Covid test even when only transferring. We flew TAP last August to Marseilles, with a layover in Lisbon, and we needed a negative Covid test because that was Portugal's requirement at that time. You should also check the Portugal Government website.
Thanks for the reply! I just called TAP and spoke with someone. They said as long as I had 3 shots I was ok to travel without a Covid test. The websites seem to contradict this. But when I look online, I have seen some people who have travelled to Portugal recently say that they were fine with the US CDC vaccine cards.
I'm still considering getting the test before I go, just to make sure.
If you have travelled to Portugal recently and can provide additional feedback, I would greatly appreciate it!!! I'd rather not have to test my entire family if I don't have to. Thank you.
For anyone interested, our transfer in Lisbon with US vaccination cards was just fine. No need for a test.
