Tram 24 Lisbon

I've never seen or read anything about a tram 24. 28, 25, and 15 are the only ones I'm familiar with. Plans came out last year about extending several metro lines, but I didn't read anything about tram lines.

Thanks for your interest and response. It seems doubtful if the 24E will be in operation by April 2018; unless Lisbon public works proceeds much faster than in the US. What a pity that so much of the system is no longer in service, all in the name of "progress".

The article in the link given is from 2016. There was considerable construction in the Cais do Sodre area for about a year. But, it has been completed for at least six months. So, the article stating that work is going on in Cais do Sodre to restore the tram line is incorrect.

IMO the trams are a pretty insufficient transport mechanism for locals. The old ones are very uncomfortable and slow. Very few people who live here use them regularly. They are really more for tourists.
All that said, riding tram 28 at least once is a fun experience and one I recommend.
