We finish in Porto after 14 days driving around Portugal and have the choice of either departing from Porto or Lisbon to leave for Spain or London (sorry our itinerary is in its infancy). Just wondering is the railway journey from Porto to Lisbon scenic and worth taking?

I did not find that route very scenic. Some of it is along the coast but I've seen much better coastline. I assume you will already have seen Lisbon and are just heading to an airport to fly out. I would choose the most efficient departure for you and not waste time on a train.

Both train and plane would take about the same time - about 2 1/2 hours. I'd opt for the train to avoid the aggrevation of the airport. No security lines, more comfortable seats.
