Train tickets Porto to Lisbon

We are travelling from the US to Portugal in November. Our arrival flight from Paris is scheduled to land at 11:00am on Porto. We plan to take the train to Lisbon after we land, and I'm wondering how much time should we allow in order to get to the Campanha station and catch a train. Would it be safe to book a 1:30pm departure from Campanha? Or the 2:30pm? Or is it possible to show up at the station and buy tickets that day?

I know I'm making assumptions that my plane will arrive more or less on time.

Thanks for any advice!

Especially in November, you would be safe buying your tickets when you arrive at the train station. With the unpredictability of air travel, that might be the best plan. Train prices are very inexpensive even if you don’t purchase them ahead of time.
