Train strikes in Portugal

Can anyone confirm if the train strikes in Portugal are continuing? I haven't found any news about that past early/mid August. Haven't found information on whether the worker's demands have been met.

The strikes are over. The worker’s settled with management. All has been good for over a month.

However, there is work being done on some rail lines. I have a train ticket from Lisbon to Porto at the end of the month and I've received several email notifications on trip modifications due to these repairs.

@Evelyn, thanks for the information. It reminds me that I should purchase tickets from Porto to Lisbon before I leave for our trip.

How early should I buy train tickets for traveling around Portugal.

I thought a few days in advances is more than enough. Any reason I should buy them a week or two or more ahead of time. I would like to stay flexible, but I will buy them if I must.

A few days ahead is fine, especially if traveling other than summer.

On the topic of when to buy tickets, would it be too risky to wait and buy train tickets at the station a little before our desired departure time (maybe an hour)?
