Train station in Sintra?

Hi everyone. I came to Sintra by bus, but I’m heading to Lisbon tomorrow and I’m confused about which train station to take. I thought I’d take the one I passed one day while walking just outside town, but it doesn’t seem to be an option of CP. Is it a different train line to Lisbon or am I somehow otherwise confused? I’ve walked a million miles every day since I got to Portugal, which is what I’m blaming my brain fog on.

I get off at Rossio station once in Lisbon, right?

Thank you!

The railway station is just called Sintra. And it is an option on cp.pt

However there is also a narrow gauge line from Sintra to the coast (called the Sintra Tram). Maybe you saw a station on that?

It's an urban commuter train so not like a train ticket you buy on CP (no reservation etc required). There should be a ticket office or a machine where you can buy a Navegante card (was Viva Viagem) and load it for a specific amount. Then just tap and go. This card can also be used in Lisbon and additional amount added as needed for use on the metro/buses, trams.

And yes, if you are staying in the historic area of Lisbon, then get off at Rossio station.

I'm guessing this is the train station you walked by and it is the one you will take to get to Lisbon.

I have a navegante card I got when I took the metro from the airport to Oriente to transfer to Porto, although I couldn’t figure out how to load it for zapping, and to be honest I’m not even sure how much is on it. I guess I can figure that out when I get to the station.

Okay, now it looks like the cp app is showing just Sintra. Earlier it showed Mira Sintra Meleças and Portela de Sintra. It looks like they run every 15-30 minutes, so I just show up, make sure I have enough on my card, tap in like I did for the metro when I first got to Lisbon, then get off at Rossio?

Yes, and if you don't have enough, the gates won't open. Anyways, there should be someone at the counter who can load more on it if needed if the machines don't make sense. Next time you ride the metro, glance when walking thru and the remaining amount will show.

Thank you! I’m having the best time in Portugal and knowing I can get help here when I need it is such a comfort.
