Train station in Lisbon and Porto

Hello,
I am planning to go from Lisbon to Porto by train. I have read some posts in this forum and google map to see which station I should select when buying train ticket. Can you help me if I have made the right choice.

Hotel in Lisbon: VIP Executive Éden Aparthotel - Praça dos Restauradores, nº 24, Lisboa, Portugal
I should start at station Lisboa Rossio in Lisbon, correct? It is just 180m distance. This station is listed when viewing time but not listed when buying ticket. When click on buying, Lisbon have 2 stations which are Lisboa Oriente and Lisboa Santa Apolonia. How can I select a station Lisboa Rossio?

Hotel in Porto: Hilton Porto Gaia - Rua de Serpa Pinto 124 RNET 9842 Vila Nova de Gaia
Should I get off at Porto Campanha station: 9.5 km 12’ or Porto Sao Bento station: 6.5km 13’

I will take uber, which station is better for uber service?

Thank you.

From Lisbon Rossio, you need to take a local train to Oriente, then catch the long distance train. Apolonia may work as well, but Oriente is the more common station, depends on the specific train.

In Porto, the long distance train will stop at Campahna, not sure if any continue on to San Bento.

But as the previous poster said, if you will have phone service, Uber and Bolt (Maybe Bolt preferred) are common and dirt cheap. Both to and from any of the stations would be easy and maybe less than 10 euro.

Google maps can help with step by step directions.

The train at Rossio is the Urban commuter train to Sintra, no online tickets.
While it's possible to take the train from Rossio to Oriente ( transfer at Campolide, over 30 minutes) it's easier to take the Metro from Rossio to Santa Apolonia ( blue line, less than 10 minutes).

For the Metro or the commuter train you'll have to buy the Navegante Ocasional card and load it with money ( non refundable).

With taxi/ Uber/ Bolt , Santa Apolonia is closer and recommend because it's the starting station for the train, arrive early so you can have time to choose the correct platform/train/train car/ seats.

Most trains from Lisbon to Porto go from Santa Apolonia and then stop at Oriente. You could do either but Santa Apolonia is closer to your hotel. In case you are open to going by metro, Santa Apolonia is just 3 stops on the blue line metro from the Restauradores metro or 2 stops from Rossio. The metro would run more often than the train between Rossio and Apolonia. Apolonia is also fine for bolt, uber, or taxi.

Since your Porto hotel is in Gaia, you can get off the train at the Vila Nova de Gaia stop and be a 2 minute bolt/uber/taxi ride from your hotel. If you look at the details that show all the train stops you will see that the train, including the fast AP, stops at Gaia (which is across the river from the rest of Porto but very close) before it stops at Campanha or Sao Bento. To book online, you may have to find the station under its full name (Vila Nova de Gaia) or Gaia if it doesn't show up under Porto. I believe Gaia is technically its own municipality even though you can easily walk there across a bridge from other parts of Porto.

I stayed at the VIP Executive Éden Aparthotel in 2022 and decided to take the metro from Restauradores to Santa Apolonia, and the train from there. The metro part of the journey is not on your train ticket. I bought my train ticket from Lisboa - Santa Apolonia.

You may already know that Restauradores metro station is just a few steps outside your hotel door and slightly to the right. It's a 1 minute walk, about 49m. The entrance down to the metro does have stairs. (I did not research an elevator option.)

From Restauradores to Santa Apolonia is ~ 6 minutes / 3 stops on the metro.

Thank you all for your help.
I am travelling as a family of four, is Uber a better choice from hotel in Lisbon to Lisboa Santa Apolonia station than metro?
Thank you.

Uber/taxi will be the easier option.
With family and luggage that would be my choice.
