train/plane/bus to Faro

Hello

If I'm in Lisbon, what is the best way to get to the Algarve region?

How much is the train? How long? Experiences?

I looked at flights, they were not that cheap. But if someone knows differently, please share.

I'm partial to train for the view and experience.

Is bus better? Price? Experience?

Thanks

Both buses and trains are cheap and good in Portugal and both have similar travel time and frequency between Lisbon and Faro 5x/day, 4 hours). Train requires one connection and some buses also connect. Rick's Portugal guidebook says that bus is "easier" on this route (p. 120). You may also decide based on whether your Lisbon start point is closer to Oriente train station or Sete Rios bus station.
