Train or bus Lisbon airport to Porto

Is it better to use the train or the bus to go from Lisbon airport to Porto?

Does the bus leave directly the airport?

Is it necessary to buy train or bus tickets in advance?
Thanks

I can't say which is better, but I can tell you what we did on our trip to Portugal in December. After arrival at the Lisbon airport, we took the metro/subway to the Oriente stop. The fast train to Porto that we took left from Oriente, so that worked out very well. I believe the fast train was about 3 hours or so.

Neither the bus or train leaves from the airport. Both leave from Oriente Station which is 2-3 metro stops from the airport. Easy if you aren’t too overloaded with baggage. I have used both and found both bus and train satisfactory. The bus companies I’ve used are Gypsyy and Flixbus. Tickets were purchased in advance.
The train website is cp.pt. If you purchase ahead, you save money but they are quite reasonable even without the savings.

I've also taken the train from Oriente to Porto after landing in Lisbon, and agree it's easy. I'm flying in to Porto in a few days after a layover in Lisbon. In hind sight, I wish I'd just chosen to take the train again rather than the connecting flight to Porto, since my layover is 4 hours. Not sure what I was thinking...
