Trying to find best way to securely book a train from Lisbon to Porto and return. Using website cp.pt. but not sure which train station is near Lisbon airport. Can someone advise? Many thanks for this last minute question.
Lisboa Oriente station is closest to the airport, 3 km by taxi or bus #705 runs every 20 minutes, according to Google Maps.
Thanks for quick reply. Laura.
Hi Barb,
We just did this train trip Jun 01 - 04. We took the faster train and booked it on-line. As we are seniors we were able to purchase the tickets for 50% discount. You do need your passport number to book the tickets and then while on the train the conductor comes to your seat and checks your passport. The regular price round trip was Euro 62 and we paid 31. Loved the train journey, from Oriente station to Campanha station in Porto was 2 hours 35 min and yes as Laura states Oriente is the nearest station to the airport as well as the being the main train station. There was a bar car as well as a service for beverages at your seat. We taxied from the Porto station to our hotel near the Douro River and really enjoyed Porto. We also took a train from Porto to Pinhao up the Douro river and visited some vineyards where Port is made. We highly recommend this part of the Port experience. Have a great visit to Porto. Sherry
If Oriente station is closest to the airport, which one is closest to the main downtown area of Lisbon (again for a trip from Lisbon to Porto)?
We did the Porto to Lisbon train, it is very fast and comfortable.
The train station in Lisbon where the train goes is fairly close to the Lisbon airport. It is on the east side of the city.
Which website do you use to book this train trip and do we need to do it in advance or can we just jump on the train that day?
Thanks

Ken, I know you don't need someone to Google that for you. Trains start/end at Lisboa Santa Apolonia.
Laura,
Thanks! I hadn't got to that part in my planning yet, and was just being lazy.
