I just booked train tickets from Lisbon to Lagos and return on Rail Europe. I am having difficultly figuring out what I need if anything. My tickets say reservation not included. Does that mean I am not guaranteed a seat even if we paid in full, round trip? or does that mean there just might not be seats together for my wife and I?
I really appreciate any assistance you can provide!
I would suggest you contact Rail Europe. It makes no sense to receive that message on the tickets. All seats on this train are reserved so you must have an assigned seat.
RailEurope very often (maybe always) costs extra for tickets. If you plan to buy more, I suggest obtaining them from a different source. Trainline.eu and loco2.com are often recommended here, though I haven't checked to be sure that they handle Portuguese rail tickets.

Thank you everyone for your help! I was in a crunch trying to get these so I just went with the easiest to understand which was definitely not the easiest to follow post-check out.
I think everything is getting sorted now. I believe after purchasing tickets I actually need to get to the train station and reserve seats for my travels which is unlike what I have had to do thus far. I have always been able to reserve a seat during booking. I guess that's what adds to travel's intrigue, wonder and excitement; all of the unknowns that we individually have to encounter.
