Did you find the English version?
If not, this is the link.
Yes, that's it. Click on the EN link at top right to get the English version. There's also a smart phone app.
You'll need to change trains at least once, probably twice if going between city center to city center. The high speed trains don't run between the little train stations in each town center. I found Lisbon Santa Apolonia a convenient station to start at (I was going north to Porto) - I just took a metro from Restauradores (near Rossio) directly to Santa Apolonia. Obviously you would do that in reverse. There are also local buses...and Uber.
In Porto, you'll need to get to Campanha station to catch the high speed train. The Sao Bento station near the center is the one most people use as a starting or end point, but a lot of local trains run between the two stations, and any ticket to/from Campanha includes a ticket for the brief ride to/from Sao Bento (not on metro, just on the local trains).
This is great information Andrew - thank you! (I'm not the OP but can use the info nonetheless!)
thanks, Andrew and lo.
so better to get on at campanha than sao bento at porto? thanks for that tip. we'll just take a cab from our hotel.
we're likely to get off at santa apolonia station in lisbon which is closer to our holiday inn hotel than the other station, Lisbon oriente.
thanks, again.
Well, there's nothing wrong with getting on the train at Sao Bento - just means you have to change right away at Campanha. If you find it easier to get a cab to Campanha, then do that. I stayed within (modest) walking distance of Sao Bento, though.
Either way, be sure to step inside of Sao Bento station to look at the incredible murals inside the entrance depicting various stages of Portuguese history.
thanks. another good tip.
