Train disruptions on Sept 12, 14, and 16th due to planned strike

Hi,

Just wanted to alert people that Comboios de Portugal recently posted an alert regarding strike related disruptions to trains September 12,14, and 16 next week: https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/pt/consultar-horarios/avisos/greve-setembro

I don't see it in the English Alerts section yet, only the Portuguese. Since I have an account I also received the alert via email.

I know that most people will have accounts, but wanted to share for those that might not have received the email or who were just planning on buying tickets in person. It looks like arbitration failed require any minimum level of service be allowed and it affects a very wide range of services. It is workers of the infrastructure management company so I don't know how to gauge how bad the impact will be.

This is the google translation:

"IP Strike - Traffic disturbances - 12, 14 and 16 September | Update
We inform you that due to a strike, called by a representative organization of workers from IP - Infraestruturas de Portugal (railway infrastructure manager), disruptions are expected in the movement of trains, at national level, on the 12th, 14th and 16th of September 2022 .

No minimum services were defined by the Arbitral Tribunal.

Customers who already have tickets purchased to travel on Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Internacional, InterRegional and Regional trains will be entitled to a refund, in the total amount of the ticket purchased, or its free revalidation for another train of the same category and in the same class.

Refunds or revalidation can be made on myCP in the “Your tickets” area (for tickets purchased at the online ticket office and CP App) up to 30 minutes before the train departure from the customer's station of origin, as well as at the ticket offices and, for reimbursement, at cp.pt by completing the online form, sending the original scan of the ticket and indicating the Name, Postal address, IBAN and NIF, up to 10 days after the strike has ended.

We regret the inconvenience caused. For information on the status of train traffic, please consult: Helpline (808 109 110 – cost of a call to the national fixed network)"

Train strikes called off as unions and NS strike 9.25% pay deal
Society September 12, 2022
Rail operator NS has agreed a pay deal with unions worth 9.25% over 18 months, ending the dispute that triggered a series of rail strikes in recent weeks. Further strikes planned for this week have been called off as the three unions involved in the talks published the proposed agreement on Sunday morning. The 16,700 staff working for the train company will receive a 5% pay increase, backdated to July, plus a bonus of €1,000 in December. In January their pay will be raised by another 3.45% and they will get a second €1,000 bonus in July.

Well.. I don't know what happened, but I posted a reply earlier to the question about the metro and it seems to have disappeared. That post also included an update that the strike has indeed been called off for now:

"IP strike - Infraestruturas de Portugal - 12, 14 and 16 September
We inform you that the strike announced for the indicated days has been called off.

For more information, please consult: Helpline – 808 109 110 (cost of a call to the national fixed network), Customer Support Offices and CP Ticket Offices."

The news article about the NS strike refers to the Netherlands however.. and that is good news as well.

Hopefully, this reply will stay up.. still not sure what happened to my previous one.

Safe travels everyone!
