I am looking for a tour guide or even just a driver for a day trip out of Nazare. We would like to have someone drive us to Alcobaca, Batalha, Obidos, maybe Tomar. We may need to split that into two days. I have been unable to locate anyone out of Nazare. Almost all are out of Lisbon. There are 3 of us in our seventies and so we thought it might be the easiest if we had our own driver. If not, I realize that we can take the bus. Thank you!

I found a wonderful tour guide, Paula Lopes. She gave us a tour of Alcobaca, Batalha and Obidos.

She speaks excellent English and also Spanish and Portuguese. We were fortunate that her husband,, Alfonso, was free also and so he was our driver. (He is also a guide).
Paula is a wealth of knowledge. She gave us the history of the places we visited but also the legends, information about the towns (festivals, etc), the architecture, current industries etc. And she did it in a very entertaining manner fo it wasn’t just a listing of facts. She is lots of fun! We told her what we wanted to see and she was careful to learn what we liked to do (for us, not shopping). She structured the tour so that we saw the sights but also had the free time that we like to wander, explore, eat lunch etc.
We paid Paula a set fee for the day. She paid for all our entrance fees, she bought us coffee and sweets and the traditional Ginjinja!
Alfonso was a wonderful “extra” for us. The car was so comfortable and air-conditioned. Alfonso was a safe and very courteous driver.
