My wife and I will be in Portugal for just over two weeks in mid April, including easter weekend, we're planning on doing the RS portugal book itinerary - we will have finished our stay in Lisbon and be in Algarve Salema area around Easter- - We want to avoid huge crowds but don't want to be in a remote area where everything is closed. should we adjust our itinerary? We'd appreciate advice on where to be and/or where to avoid around the easter weekend Would be ok to be somewhere with a not overly crowded colorful celebration but best would be somewhere with a nearly a 'business as usual' type environment. Thanks!!
Salema is quite remote and I’m not certain much would be open that early in the year. I know the Lisbon area fills with Spanish tourists at Easter but not certain about the Algarve. Plus, hotel prices really go up that weekend. If you don’t have accommodations, yet, I urge you to decide quickly and book them.
I, personally, would never stay in Salema, no matter what time of year. I much prefer Lagos. But, again, I’m not certain how crowded it is at Easter. Maybe someone else will jump in with input.
