We are planning a trip to Portugal and Spain for which we have a home in the Algarve from mid-June for up to 2 weeks. Some friends will be joining us for ~ 1 week. We see this trip as more R&R than touring since we will be in Porto and Seville in the two weeks preceding. We have zero experience with the Algarve, although much experience lazing on sandy beaches. We are based near Praia de Armaçao de Pêra. We will have a rental car.
Are there things we absolutely ought to make time for? Or things better off avoided? Anything interesting in Armaçao de Pêra? How ambitious should we be in terms of the distances for day trips?
