Hi All
Arriving afternoon of 9/7 departing morning of 9/15 both in and out of Lisbon Airport.I am fortunate to be able to stay at a friends place in Caldas da Rainha. Wish list is simple and I can keep it basic. maybe a couple days at the beach.. What nice beach/beaches do you suggest? A nice castle,Fatima,maybe Porto.I have no problem renting a car and doing the driving or taking a train. I'll take any suggestions.Thanks!

I stayed near Caldas in September for a week a few years ago and hired a car. I went to the beach at Foz do Arelho. I had a day trip to Lisbon and had a few hours in Porto as I was flying out of there. I saw Obidos and Santarem one day then Tomar and Fatima another day. Another day was driving up the coast.
Whilst Evora is a nice place, it’s more than a 2 hour drive each way and there are closer places that merit a visit.

We took the train to Evora from Lisbon, it worked well.
Porto is great, check out the In Patio Guesthouse there, it is amazing. Also, we did a week long cruise of the Douro Valley. Wonderful

Do some search about Tomar- One of my favourite cities. On your way there, visit the Almourol Castle.
