Taxi from Lisbon Airport

Eeks! That does seem pretty hefty. We used Uber, I recall that bein 10-12 EUR to the same area, Taxis at that time (March 2020) I thought were about the same, hope that is not all due to inflation.

You should feel "taken". We Ubered great distances in Lisbon and found their rates to be surprisingly inexpensive.

You were taken. We were in Lisbon in mid-September and the taxi cost 25 euros to a downtown hotel from the airport. We paid cash and added 5 euros for the tip.

We paid euro 28 for a taxi from the airport to our apartment and that was Friday afternoon the day of the Lisbon vs Porto soccer game. Crazy traffic. We used Uber the rest of our trip.

We also paid 24 euros for a taxi from the airport to Baixa. This also happened two years ago. The problem is that we also took a taxi back to the airport, albeit at 5am vs afternoon, and the morning taxi was about 12 euros. About 17 days later we again took a taxi from the airport, this time to Restauradores, and it was about 13 euros. We thought we were taken on our first ride but maybe it has to do with the time of day and demand. We could have taken an Uber from the airport but the taxi stand was more convenient. True it doesn’t feel great to think we may have been taken advantage of but we didn’t stew on it.

There have been horror stories for many years about taxes at the airport. If you don’t want to do an Uber or a Bolt, it’s almost worth it to use a private transfer service. That way you know the cost upfront and they are waiting for you with a sign with your name on it.

We took a Uber from Baixa to the airport last week and it cost 20 .00 euro. plus 5.00 tip.....Lisbon was a blast

We used Uber in both Spain and Portugal and very happy with all rides! Definitely cheaper than cabs and you know ahead of time the fee. Highly recommend Uber.
