We reserved a taxi from the airport to our hotel through Booking.com. I have seen a couple of posts on a Facebook group that, despite having a reservation, the driver never shows up?? Has anybody had a similar experience? Thank you

Which city? Based on my own research we opted not use any taxis in Portugal. We found Bolt to be cheaper and very reliable throughout Portugal. Good luck.

Last month, we used Uber in Lisbon to get back and forth from the airport as well as to Sintra and Cascais and back. Efficient, safe and reasonably priced.

Taxis, Uber, and Bolt are all plentiful and cheap (If you are speaking of Lisbon or Porto) so reserving ahead really was not necessary. I would go with it, and if things go sideways, you have some other options (though which options depends if you will have a phone with service).
What did Booking quote you for a cost?
