Flown them 3 times and they were good with no scheduled problems. Can't tell anything about premium economy.

From personal experience, they are very strict with luggage , carry ons in particular.

jonibg, it was a while back and I don't remember. Sorry. I'm sure it was the fare that included a carryon.

I've flown with TAP twice, both times into/out of Lisbon. It was annoying that the flight landed on the tarmac, had to walk off the plane to a bus and be driven to the airport building. Same thing when leaving. It added a lot of time, compared to getting off/ on at a gate attached to the airport.

For economy class, the food was good; better than what I 've had on other airlines.

Yes, size of carry on.
They were very strict with carry on, probably one third of passengers on my flight ( Lisbon to Ponta Delgada, Açores) had to check in their carry on.

I fly TAP several times a year throughout Europe and to the U.S. They are my preferred airline these days. TAP is good unless you need to change a flight, as the administration is pretty bad. But, the staff on flights, planes, etc. are fine.

I have flown premium economy but that was a few years ago. Then it was similar to American, British, etc. However, the last couple of years, their premium economy looks pretty much the same as economy but with more leg room. I fly from Lisbon to Chicago so don’t know what other routes would be. You have the ability to look at the seats, so be sure to do that. It’s very obvious from the pictures what you would be getting. BTW - their Premium class is much less expensive than carriers in the U.S.

Hi jonibg, Someone posted the same question on the Transportation forum, and here's what I wrote:
We flew TAP from SFO to Lisbon, an 11 hour flight. I couldn’t imagine economy for that length, so we booked economy +. The seats are just a little wider, and the legroom just a little more (maybe 4 inches). My husband managed to sleep, but I couldn’t (I did sleep a couple of hours on the return trip). Economy plus wasn’t terrible, definitely better than economy, but not spacious.
