I was there last week and it was so easy. We mostly used Ubers since there’s 4 of us but we did use the tram and a bus once. Theres’a also an option to buy tickets for multiple passengers with one tap of your CC. You simply type in the number of tickets you need then tap the card. Easy peasy!

Hi, we are also a group of four. On the website it says one credit card per ticket but you say that you can use one credit card for 4 tickets? Am I understanding that correctly, I am asking because I have a discover card and they do not accept that.

Also, did you use Uber to go to Sintra ?

If I remember correctly, you go up to the machine once on the bus or tram, punch in how many tickets you need then tap your card once. It worked both times for us that way. I know getting on public transport in a foreign country can be so stressful. We honestly had no idea what we weee doing. All we knew was that we were getting on this tram as we did not walk up the steep hill! There were people in line and we just asked someone. Portuguese people are so nice and friendly. Our taxi driver told us that they learn to speak English in school.

Regarding Sintra, we hired a private tour guide who also provided transport. Uber is plentiful in Lisbon and when doing my research have seen that people either Uber or taxi to Sintra.
