Hi I need advise I am trying to book a flight with TAP airlines to got to Maderia/ Funchal with a free stop over in Lisbon from the USA in September.
I am Having a hard time with there website trying to do a stopover with a carry on bag and a seat , no checked bag.
Is there a "trick" I am not aware of ?
The stopover flies from home airport in USA wait 4 or 5 hours at Lisbon airport fly to Maderia/ Funchal and visit Lisbon and the rest of Portugual after. I guess that way it is more straight forward but a very long wait to get there .
OR is it better book a round trip from my home airport in the US to Lisbon, Visit Lisbon/ Sintra and than book a easy jet from Lisbon to Maderia for 6 nights , come back pick up a car and visit the Algarve for a few nights , drop off car and fly home ?
any suggestions ?

I don't know which is better, but we did the round trip to Lisbon and added an easy jet flight to Maderia afterwards when we revised our plans. Lisbon airport is so close to Lisbon that heading back to the airport is no problem. Sounds like a great trip and Maderia is beautiful.
