Summer Portugal itinerary help

Hi everyone -

My husband and I will be going to Portugal in July 2019. I'm looking for a little feedback on the itinerary I created based on another post I had and that initial feedback and Rick's recommendations (and his tours).

Our tickets are purchased - Lisbon to Lisbon, so flying home from Porto is not an option. We like food, wine, culture and history. But we also want to see some of the stunning coastline. Thanks in advance for any help.

7/11 - 7/15: Lisbon (1 day trip to Cascais)
7/15 - 7/17: Evora
7/17-7/19 - Coimbra
7/19 - 7/23 - Porto (1 day trip to Douro River Valley)
7/23 - 7/24 - Obidos
7/24 - 7/26 - Sintra (day trip to Praia da Adraga)
7/26 - fly home (leave Sintra AM on 7/26)

I know this truly only gives me 1 full day each in Evora and Coimbra but I'm hoping because of short drive times I can maximize the 'driving' days. Ideally I would like one more full day in Evora but I don't know if it is worth it to take it from Lisbon.

Thanks!

I would suggest a change to 7/23 to Nazare, then on 7/24 go to Obidos either early in the day or later to avoid tour groups on your way to Sintra. Also Evora is very doable , the town in compact and walkable. I had an extra unscheduled night with the intent to use it in Evora if needed, but moved on after 1 night. I got to Evora at 9am and had a full day of sightseeing.

Your plan is fine. Inland Portugal can be very hot in July.

Nazare ( I am not a fan) will be very busy as it’s peak season, so trying to find accommodation for 1 night could be a challenge.

Obidos only needs 2 hours.
