Not sure what your budget is, but we stayed at the NH Porto Jardim when we were there in September. Including the buffet breakfast it was 230€ a night. We liked its location and it was easy to walk everywhere. If you have a rental car it has its own parking garage.

Loved my stay at In Porto Gallery Guesthouse in October this year. My room on the second floor overlooked the garden from my private little balcony. The bed was very comfortable and I really appreciated the deep tub to soak my tired feet in after touring all day. The provided breakfast was delicious and coffee strong.
