Ola: I know that Mealhada is THE city for suckling pig. However, I don't have a car and thus am confined to restaurants in Coimbra. Do you have any recommendations? I am dubious of Tripadvisor, because I looked at the top-ranked places in my city (San Francisco) and most are total tourist traps. What good resources/websites about the Portuguese food scene do you know of? Thanks.
Barkinpark, I'd be very interested in the answers too! Following this thread ;))
Forgeting about suckling pig, and just talking about pig: I never went there but all (almost all) my friends have already went there to eat... bones... with almost no meat, you must pick the bones with your hand and imagine you are a dog. The name is "Zé Manel dos Ossos". Owner died last year, but it seems restaurant is still good. Just an idea.
When ordering roasted suckling (or even adult) pig portions, is it possible to request certain parts? I am just afraid that tourists will be given the least desirable parts.
