I am finding it difficult to book a tour of the Stock Exchange Palace, in Porto, online. The date (26 May) seems to be available, but no tour in English. Might English tours be sold out? Or do I need to go in person, that morning? Thank you for your suggestions!
We were there in April, 2023. We purchased our tickets in person, day of. We headed to the palace fairly early in the day and came back later for the tour. We were doing the RS walking tour from the guide so we worked that in around the palace. At that time, and perhaps still, tickets could only be purchased day of, in person. We verified that with our BnB, perhaps you could confirm with your accommodations, as well.
If you look at the RS guide, very close was a wine museum with some tasting and another place to taste. Also, the palace overlooks a huge square with a lot of activity, as well as a few churches that made for interesting visits.
We really enjoyed the Stock Exchange Palace. Gorgeous and great tour
In September, 2023, we also had to buy our English guided tour tickets at the door. We showed up at 2:30pm and bought tickets for the 3:15pm tour. We went for drinks across the street at the Urban Market while we waited.
Hello. I happen to be looking at booking the Stock Exchange Palace online now. I am booking Saturday June 1 and it gives me the option of choosing the English tour at 10am only. I wanted to see if it was any different on Sunday the 2nd but it only gives the 10am time as well. I am not sure if there are more English tours available that they don't advertise on the website because the travel guide states you have to call to book an English tour and that there are 6 per day.
rocgirl, our tour was in the afternoon, in English. I would double check that you are on an official website and not a third party. I think the solution is to email the palace, if possible. Otherwise, my lodgings are always willing to provide or obtain information.
Thank you Jules. Unfortunately I booked it before I saw your post. Hopefully it is legitimate. I used the website listed in the Rick Steves guide www.palaciodabolsa.com. Worst case we show up and it is not the English tour. I don't mind the 10am time. I had read other posts where it was sold out and I wanted to be sure we didn't miss it. Next time I will wait to be sure it is correct.
Looks like the actual site to me.
