What are of Porto would you stay in. We are looking at the area around the Bolhao Market. Is their a place that would work better for seeing the sights?

Porto is not a large city. You should book a hotel within walking distance to the riverfront. We like Hotel Infante de Sagres. There is also a new Pousada on the river.

Ive stayed both areas - close to the river and to the Mercado. I much preferred close to the river. By the way - you do know the Bolhao Mercado is currently under renovation? I’m not certain where the market is occurring but know it’s not in the original building.

We stayed on the river at Guest House Douro. Wonderful establishment with five star service from Carmen and Joao. Our stay with them was a highlight of Porto!
