Staying in Parque das Nacoes

Hello, I'm planning a 14 day trip to Portugal and considering staying 6 days in Lisbon to see Lisbon, and also to use it as a hub to day trip to Sintra, Evora, and other locations. Since I'm using it as a hub I am considering if it might be better for me to stay in Parque das Nacoes given its proximity to the airport, and Gare do Oriente. I'm thinking I should still be able to get into central lisbon quickly and easily from there. I realize that this will mean that I will sacrifice staying in the heart of the tourist attractions and historic architecture, but I think I'm okay with that in exchange for convience to the main train station. Is there a downside to this plan that I haven't considered? Maybe it takes longer than I think to get to cental Lisbon?

Personally, I wouldn't. Lisbon is so close to the airport anyways and very easy by the metro, that I wouldn't sacrifice proximity to the attractions.

I've been to Lisbon 3 times and have yet to ever go to the Oriente station. Rossio train station will take you directly to Sintra (no need to take a train from Oriente) and it is a beautiful train station and easy to navigate. And for Evora, you can take a train or bus from Sete Rios which is on the metro line. It isn't necessary to be close to Oriente when using Lisbon as a hub for day trips. The only advantage I can think of to use the Oriente station is if you plan to leave Lisbon to another destination right after your flight.
