Hi, we are looking at different biking tours running anywhere from mid April to end of May. One tour is from Porto to Lisbon, mostly along the coast. The other is more inland in the Alentejo region. Any insight on weather conditions (April vs May) would be appreciated. Also when does the Algarve start to get too warm and crowded with tourists? Thinking about adding a few days there after the bike tour.

There are surely many websites revealing historical weather as to temperatures, wind, precipitation, etc. Weather Underground is one source I've used in advance of traveling to Portugal and elsewhere. Enjoy your cycling trip.

I wouldn’t be concerned with it being too warm in the Algarve region in May. However, the Alentejo could be pretty warm by end of May. I, personally, would likely choose the more northern route. There are many lovely small towns and the coast is very nice.
Weather will likely include rain during that time of the year.
