We will be in Lisbon for 4 days then plan to head south for 4 days then take a ferry to Marrakesh. We are interested in stops south that are not too touristy and hints on how to get to Marrakesh.
From lisbon , drive or take bus to Algarve Portugal. Spend a night in the town of Albufeira ( and Visit Lagos), From Albufeira, take bus to Seville Spain , spend 2 days there then from Seville take train or bus to Tarifa. From Tarifa take ferry to Tangier, Morocco. And Last, take train from Tangier to Marrakesh.
Personally, I wouldn’t want to stay in Albufeira. Head straight to Seville for 3 nights then follow post 1. Marrakesh isn’t on the coast, so you can’t take a ferry there.
Thank you both all information helps. Really had not thought about Seville now I am.
Also we have added time, and while we are in Lisbon would like to travel up to Porto for a few nights - train/bus any thoughts one way or the other and, of course, tips on Porto.
Hey Mike,
Take train from Lisbon to Porto and make a stop over in Coimbra, a nice little town along the way.
Train schedule: Lisbon > Coimbra > Porto

Also Mike, don't forget to go to Sintra while in Lisbon, It's a short train ride from the city.

Things to do in Porto:
To reach Morocco, you could also return to Lisbon and fly nonstop from there to Marrakesh, Fes, Casablanca, or Tangier. Flights don't operate every day, however. Try www.skyscanner.com for a search engine.
Thank you everyone, all the info has led us to the beginning decision, at the moment, to go to Sintra, Evora, Coimbra, fly to Marrakesh from Lisbon then return and take the train to Porto. It will be a few weeks before anything is set in stone.
So I am still listening.
And south of Lisbon is not going to happen this trip.
I do know that next year we plan to go to Spain. There was information leading us there.
