We’re doing two weeks in Portugal in September as independent travelers. We are considering doing a small van (8 passengers max.) tour that picks up in Lisbon, drives to Sintra and includes the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira, lunch in Sintra and back to Lisbon. The cost is $144 per person. Has anyone used Portuguese for a Day Tours run by Viator?
Have you considered using Bolt?
For a party of four (this is not per person cost)
Direct from Lisbon hotel to Pena Palace about 20 euro.
4-5 euro from Pena main entrance to QR (insist on upper ticket booth entrance)
Easy walk back to Sintra town.
Cheap train back to Lisbon
Fraction of a cost of group tour with total flexibility
Viator does not run tours. It sells other people's tours. If you look at the tour, you should be able to find out the actual tour operator. It may save you money to book directly with the tour operator.
We are 4 adults going to Lisbon the beginning of October. I just booked us a private tour, by car, to Sintra for $500. We will be picked up at our hotel and returned there in the evening. I booked through toursbylocals.com. He will purchase the tickets and we will reimburse him.
